Drinking water is very important. Below are some numbers to help you baseline your consumption. Keep in mind that an individual may vary in that more or less is required. I recommend you drink when you feel thirsty and if you find yourself deviating from the numbers below you may want to follow up with a medical professional. Always listen to your body and drink water when it's thirsty.

Feelings of being unwell are signs of prolonged dehydration. When the body is dehydrated it becomes more difficult to perform work. 

Recommendations as per canfitpro:

  • Folks between the age of 19-50 should consume... men: 3.7 L/day and women: 2.7 L/day.
  • 1 hr before exercise - consume 250-500mL and 
  • 20 min before exercise - consume 250mL.
  • During exercise - drink 125 to 250 mL every 10-15 minutes
  • After - drink 500mL for every pound of weight lost
